Laura Gordillo taught 3rd grade for five years before she devoted herself fully to being a mom and photographer. She loved teaching and felt it was so rewarding to know she was making a difference in young children’s lives. When Laura became pregnant, her husband and her made the decision that she would be a stay-at-home mom. It was the most difficult decision she ever made because she was very passionate about teaching, but she has no regrets! “I finally had time to promote my photography business I had started back in 2008, but never had much time for it, since teaching was the only thing I could focus on.” Laura says her husband was a big motivation factor in getting into photography. He bought her her first camera, and encouraged her when she didn’t think she was cut out for it. She sees the world much differently since the birth of her daughter. “My husband and my daughter truly inspire me each and every day!” says Laura. “I look at life as picture taking moments. I love capturing those candid moments, those times where you don’t need to look at the camera, moments you can’t pose for! Whether it’s a father kissing his newborn baby on the forehead, or a family laughing a little brother’s silly faces: those are moments in life I want to capture, that deserve to be frozen and cherished forever!”
